Partnerships with Canadian universities and the innovation community will advance research in cloud, networking and AI technologies to support the development of 5G networks+ and 6G
MONTRAL, the Oct 11, 2022 /CNW/ – VMware (NYSE: VMW), a leader in enterprise software innovation, today announced the opening of its new NG-IA VMware Research and Innovation Center. This center will bring together VMware’s expertise in multi-cloud infrastructure, advanced networking, and modern application development with the latest emerging cloud development techniques, as well as artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. ) and machine learning (AA), to provide a sustainable solution to 5G technologies+ and 6G.

- Research applies : In partnership with Mitacs, VMware is working with researchers across the Canada to develop 5G technologies+ and 6G, improve digital equity and rethink the architecture of the internet in an open network.
- New research and innovation laboratory NG-IA: The Research and Innovation Lab provides researchers and industrial partners with access to state-of-the-art software and hardware that allows them to rapidly validate and demonstrate key concepts.
- Modern App Development Hub (Factory SW) : The VMware Tanzu Modern Application Development Hub provides VMware customers and partners with access to VMware Tanzu solutions and open source technologies. The offering will include Spring and .Net development expertise and tools, development accelerators, automated container build service, support for any Kubernetes-compliant runtime, and the ability to create, Run and manage software supply chains that meet speed, stability, economy, security, and scalability requirements.
Through partnerships with Mitacs, Centech and the IEEE, VMware will also provide selected researchers and start-ups with access to the new NG-IA Innovation Lab and VMware Tanzu Modern Application Development Hub.

Partnership with Centech to support Montreal start-ups
With access to VMware’s modern application development tools, select Centech Associate partners and start-ups will have free access to Tanzu solutions and open source technology. This set of professional, platform-specific tools will allow participants to learn better how to build, deliver and manage cloud applications designed to run on any Kubernetes system on-premises, in the public cloud or in edge environments.
