The Strategic Committee for the Sector of Health Industries and Technologies (CSF-ITS) launches the “Data, IA and Health Pathways” AMI

It was at the ParisSanté Campus innovation and research campus, inaugurated on December 14, 2021, that the AMI “Data, IA and Health Pathways” was presented on September 5. Launched by the Strategic Committee of the Health Industries and Technologies Sector, it aims to identify, on French territory, breaks in health pathways by relying on AI and data. This AMI is part of the “IA and Health” program of the CSF-ITS and the strategic sector contract signed between the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, the Ministry of Higher Education and of Research and the Ministry of Health and Prevention, industrialists represented by FEFIS, the French Federation of Health Industries, and the trade unions CFDT and FO.

The Health Industries and Technologies sector brings together all French companies working in research, development, production and marketing in the field of health: pharmaceutical laboratories, medical devices, in vitro diagnostics, publishers and companies in the digital.

Multiple medical technologies, innovative diagnostics and therapies as well as more easily exploitable data, in particular thanks to AI and connected objects, are the major challenges of tomorrow for this economic sector. The “AI and Health” program of the CFS-ITS aims to make France a reference ecosystem in terms of the application of digital analysis technologies for research and the enhancement of health data, for the effective emergence personalized and precision medicine.

The first achievements of the program have made it possible, between 2019 and 2021 to:

  • Valuing shared data and building the economic model of the Health Data Hub (HDH);
  • Develop the use of real-life health data as a decision-making aid and guide stakeholders on the different types of real-life health data sources and health algorithms.

The 2022 ambition is to accelerate the “Data, AI and Health Pathways” use case

The “Data, AI and Health Pathway” AMI

This call aims to identify and support projects proposing breakthrough innovations based on the use of health data in order to improve health pathways, bring together players in the field (health, digital, public, etc.), federate and structure the AI ​​and Health sector. The main objectives are therefore:

● In the short term, analyze health pathways to target breakthroughs and propose innovations based on complementary solutions from the family of health industries (for example, diagnostics and drugs or connected objects and services to the person) ;

● In the medium term, to propose innovative economic models around these solutions;

● In the long term, to strengthen the dialogue between national public and private health players, to focus the creativity of an economic fabric around shared issues around disruptions, and create value in France.

Develop pilot projects and place them in an overall perspective

Two first pilots have already been launched at the level of the CSF-ITS: the IMPACT pilot around mental health and the Hepatitis C pilot. The AMI aims to bring out new pilots who can rely on several sources health data, in compliance with the regulations:

  • Data from the National Health Data System (SNDS);
  • Connected object data;
  • Data from cohorts, registries or hospital health data warehouses.

Eligibility

This AMI is intended for any player in the health sector, involved in the exploitation of data and health pathways. Candidate profiles can be:

● healthcare manufacturers;

● consortia of private actors;

● consortia already made up of private and public players in the health sector.

Open until November 4, the pre-selection phase of application files will begin the next day and end on December 6, oral presentations will take place from December 12 to 16, the announcement of the selected projects on January 6, 2023 .
