INFOGRAPHICS. Covid-19: in Normandy, the circulation of the virus continues to progress

On Wednesday September 28, 2022, the Regional Health Agency observed a 21.1% increase in the incidence rate compared to the last fortnight. It stands at 398.8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

The Regional Health Agency (ARS) publishes new figures on Wednesday September 28, 2022 concerning the monitoring of the Covid-19 epidemic. The Normandy is experiencing a further increase in the number of cases. As of September 26, the regional incidence in Normandy has increased by 21.1% compared to the previous assessment on September 14 and stands at 398.8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (185.5 two weeks ago).

In detail by department, Seine-Maritime is experiencing the largest increase (+ 28.3%) with an incidence rate of 432.8. This is followed by Manche (+20.5%, 359.5), Calvados (+17.5%, 379.3), Eure (+13.8%, 374.5) and finally Orne (+ 13.7%, 379.3). The coronavirus epidemic has been on the rise in the region since the end of August.


Hospitalizations are up slightly in Normandy. As of September 26, 720 people with Covid-19 are hospitalized (713 at the last update on September 14), including 28 in intensive care (26 at the last update).


As of September 24, since the launch of the vaccination campaign, 7,961,824 injections have been carried out on the Normandy population, including 2,523,853 boosters (cumulative): “

As a reminder, a second booster dose (often referred to as the “4th dose”) is therefore recommended for:

– People aged 80 and over, residents of nursing homes and USLD regardless of their age, as well as for immunocompromised people, from three months after the last injection;

– People aged 60 to 79, with or without comorbidity, from 6 months after the first booster injection.

– People at risk of severe form of Covid or people living in their entourage

– Pregnant women from the first trimester


Between September 18 and 24, 52,984 people were tested, 13,188 of whom tested positive. The positivity rate increased to 24.89% against 20.30% at the last situation update on September 14.
